Short-Form & Long-Form Videos

Truncating reality for Online Social Media marketing campaigns.

The Creative Cortex is a visual storyteller and has the ability to execute short-form and long-form videos. The work TCC has created to date ranges from recaps, reels, teasers, promos, and sizzles - all promoting an event, product or service specific to the client for which the video(s) were made. TCC produced each video from ideation to fruition, including the project coordination, the shoots, the editing, and all post-production finishes. They were done on limited budgets and with limited resources, demonstrating our ability to "do a lot with just a little" while not sacrificing quality.

"Horror Re-Imagined: Vol. 1" Album Preview

As part of the social media marketing by D for Disgruntled for his  "concept soundtrack album" currently available on Bandcamp, TCC created a visual accompaniment to his track preview videos. This is the "End Credits" cue which is a suite of the four prominent themes and motifs used throughout the full album (i.e. film score) while the visualizations supports the story the music is telling.

Who Are The Hollywood Ghostbusters?

For this local Hollywood, CA based non-profit organization of Ghostbusters fans, TCC created this short "about" video. Nowhere across their social media profiles was an "about them" video explaining who they were. Now when people come across their organization, this video helps to convey the proper story of who they are and what the do as a non-profit.

For a documentary project TCC is personally producing, this is a teaser in use on social media. The concept is to pose the question for which the documentary is structured around. Using existing footage shot specifically for the documentary, this quick sneak peak was assembled.

Live-To-Film Concert Sizzle Promo

The Montalban Theater - Hollywood, CA

A promotional video that not only recaps the concert evening in 1 - minute it is continuing the story and energy the composer has maintained for 4 years while getting this project off the ground. Used strictly by concert promoters to raise interest in other cities domestically and internationally for taking the concert on tour. It is used on the promoters website and social media.

To help get audiences to understand what this Live-To-Film event was going to be like, TCC was given a scene from the movie in which to overlay the new orchestra cue for the same scene. With the addition of cleverly timed and placed onscreen text, the final result was jsut the right amount of "over-the-top" style that was in-line with the film's style. It was almost like a movie trailer and was used across social media.

Re-Imagining The Score Album Promo #1

The Bridge Recording Studio - Glendale, CA

Before the Live-To-Film concert occurred, the original "synth" score from the 1988 cult-film was reconstructed and re-recorded as a full orchestra to be released as a new soundtrack album. From the footage TCC filmed of the recording session at The Bridge Recording Studio, the composer's journey from ideation to fruition is captured in this short-form video. The album was released by Varèse Sarabande and this video used across social media.

Re-Imagining The Score Album Promo #2

Los Angeles, CA

Concerned that people may not "get" what the "re-imagining" of the score would be, the composer asked that we do a comparison video. Given a scene from the film, TCC overlaid both the original "synth" cue and the new "orchestra" cue. The music switches from the synth version to the orchestra version throughout the scene. On-screen visual cues were also provided when the switch occurred. The composer used this as part of his social media marketing.

Convention Appearance Announcement

Los Angeles, CA

Continuing the composer's journey and promotion the live-to-film concert tour, TCC was asked to create a Snap Chat styled video for the composer announcing his appearance at the horror convention Son of Monsterpalooza 2018. This time out, TCC created an all-out Motion Graphics video. The composer had to cancel an appearance at one event in order to appear at another. TCC found a unique perspective in which to convey the announcement on social media.

During the crowdfunding phase of the "score re-imagined" project, a small fan signing event was held to announce the crowdfunding campaign. It was the beginning of a year long storytelling journey for the composer. Used in part with the crowdfunding campaign to help show investors and funders that there was a fan base and interest in the score getting re-recorded as well as a future Live-To-Film concert.

Two videos were created from the entire fan signing event. This being the longer more conversation oriented video in which the composer and the attendees have more in depth dialogue between each other.

Lukas had an idea for a feature-length sci-fi movie. In order to get to that dream he needed to produce a short film as a proof of concept. In order to do that, he needed to raise money to produce the short film. Working closely with Lukas, TCC helped to ensure his personal story was conveyed to the viewer. His dry sense of humor was utilized in telling his story. The challenges faced and ultimately TCC succeeded at was hitting all the right comedic timings in post.

Benefit Awareness Event Promo 

Dark Delicacies - Burbank, CA

To help bring awareness to the organization and promote a benefit event for the Cesura Youth Orchestra, TCC produced this promo addressing the details of the event and why people should donate. John Massari brought in TCC as a result of our already working alongside him on his Killer Klowns From Outer Space project. The video was used across the organization's social media and the website.

At the end of the event, the composers who appeared in-person gathered together for a final announcement for how people can still donate. Think of it as a sequel or continuation of the precious video. This too was used on their social media pages and website.

Zillow Video Walk-Through

Los Angeles, CA

As part of the early set-up phases of the L.A. branch of ZinVu, this Real Estate Marketing company based out of Carlsbad, CA teamed up with TCC to produce several videos to be featured in portions of their "sales pitches" to potential L.A. clients. TCC quickly conveys how this particular service of ZinVu - The Zillow Video Walk-Through - is of value to clients from a consumer perspective while showing the quality of the video in context on Zillow.

Matterport 3D Showcase & Virtual Tour

Los Angeles, CA

The core service offered by ZinVu L.A. was the Matterport 3D scanning system that produces 3D virtual tours of interior spaces. As part of the marketing efforts to potential L.A. clients, TCC helped broaden the range of customers by demonstrating ZinVu L.A. could handle commercial property. This tour features the now defunct Bridge Recording Studio that was located in Glendale, CA.

This short video exhibits another cool feature of the Matterport 3D Showcase - Information Tagging or "Matter Tags" as it is called. Anything can be tagged and each tag can contain additional information regarding the item being tagged. This information can range from text, videos, additional photos and links to other sources.
