Scripted COntent Videos

Scripting reality for personal storytelling to Educate or entertainment.

The Creative Cortex is a visual storyteller and has the ability to execute scripted videos. The work TCC has created to date ranges from educational and documentary styled shorts, music videos, fan films, interviews and behind the scenes - all conveying a story specific to the client for which the video(s) were made. TCC produced each video from ideation to fruition, including the project coordination, the shoots, the editing, and all post-production finishes. They were done on limited budgets and with limited resources, demonstrating our ability to "do a lot with just a little" while not sacrificing quality. There are two project that TCC only performed editing on and they are noted accordingly.

Music Library Recording Sessions

The Bridge recording Studio - Glendale, CA

A new "music library" was being created and made available for licensing to productions of all types for use in their marketing or temp tracking needs. TCC found a way to tell two stories simultaneously - one from the project creator and the one being told through the music. Through moody lighting and proper juxtaposition of the interview and the recording session footage, the main story was able to connect with each selected cue of music.

Behind The scenes

"The Killer Note" Behind The Scnes

The Montalban Theater - Hollywood, CA

One of several behind the scenes videos that were made for a much larger project in the works currently. This and the others document the long journey it took composer John Massari to make his project become a reality. This video documents his last days of preparation before the recording sessions. The raw and rough feel of the video was intended as it helps to invoke the last minute anxiety and rush John was experiencing.

Music Mix Procedure Video

Glendale, CA

After the Recording Sessions, John wanted to make a "behind the scenes" video of how he does his music mixing at home.  He prepares the mixes for the sound engineers to perform their final mastering whether for CD release or use in a movie or TV show. TCC took the more traditional "educational video" approach to show that John and TCC could make a more "conservative" styled video.

"Invasion Of Hollywood" Fan Film

Hollywood, CA

As the Live-To-Film concert neared, John and TCC banded together to make a "fan film". The idea was that the film was an assembly of footage taken from found mobile devices and later stitched together to form the narrative of the Klowns invading Hollywood to attend the concert. The first to arrive realizes he is too early and goes out onto the streets of Hollywood. He watches the others arriving and enjoys the chaos ensuing.

"Killer Klowns From Outer Space" 30th anniversary Happenings

"Frankenstein: The True Story"Production Art

Creature Features - Burbank, CA

Sam Irvin was celebrating 38th issue of Little Shoppe of Horrors magazine in which the entire issue was devoted to the film Frankenstein: The True story. He set up a small art show at the now defunct store location of Creature Features (the store exists in online form only now) containing the artwork commissioned for the issue as well as memorabilia from the film itself. Sam provides in-depth history and details behind each piece of art.

Interview Clips from the Film

Los Angeles, CA

These are clips from a documentary that is in production currently.  It focuses on the business and creative challenges surrounding the commercial releases of soundtracks. These are just a few of the many interviews being conducted. While these clips in and of themselves are just quick insights into each interview, they demonstrate the professional quality TCC is capable of achieving for interviews.

Hatteras Street Residential Demolition

North Hollywood, CA

As part of the early set-up phases of the L.A. branch of ZinVu, this Real Estate Marketing company based out of Carlsbad, CA teamed up with TCC to produce several videos to be featured in portions of their "sales pitches" to potential L.A. clients. TCC quickly conveys how this particular service of ZinVu - The Zillow Video Walk-Through - is of value to clients from a consumer perspective while showing the quality of the video in context on Zillow.

Falcon Street Residential Demolition

Long Beach, CA

This short video exhibits another cool feature of the Matterport 3D Showcase - Information Tagging or "Matter Tags" as it is called. Anything can be tagged and each tag can contain additional information regarding the item being tagged. This information can range from text, videos, additional photos and links to other sources.

Serrano Avenue Residential Demolition

The core service offered by ZinVu L.A. was the Matterport 3D scanning system that produces 3D virtual tours of interior spaces. As part of the marketing efforts to potential L.A. clients, TCC helped broaden the range of customers by demonstrating ZinVu L.A. could handle commercial property. This tour features the now defunct Bridge Recording Studio that was located in Glendale, CA.

"No Game" Editing Submission

Los Angeles, CA

This sample was an editing contest submission in which Matthew (the owner of TCC) submitted to get more experience in narrative film editing. While he did not win it was still great experience. Having creative freedom to tell the story how he saw it while trying to fulfill the guidelines of the contest was a welcomed challenge. D for Disgruntled composed the music that is heard in the clip.

"ReD" Music Video

Pasadena, CA

TCC did not shoot the video however it did shape and create this final video through artistic editing and post-effects. Originally, the ask was to simply edit together two pieces of footage of Hillary performing two different parts of the song on guitar. The final was not interesting nor had a story. TCC responded to the cerebral and experimental music style with an equally cerebral and experimental visual style that supports the story conveyed in the lyrics.
